I am currently away for a golf tournament this week until Sunday and my period is due at any time. I was practicing today and got the dull achy feeling in my lower stomach like near my pubic bone and sharp pains around my left ovary area.
I’m so worried that I’ll start my period during the tournament and have to withdraw due to the horrendous pains I get which make me bed bound. It’s happened a few times last year and I couldn’t play and had to endure 4 hour drives home 😫
I’m sat in the bath trying to relieve some pain but it’s not helping atm. I’m so bloated and tired and my lower back is killing me.
Is pain that’s a dull ache feeling a few days before period a sign of endo? Does anyone else get it and what helps you? I’ve tried strong painkillers and hot water bottles.

I know that pain well hope it gets better soon. For me personally I have that pain nearly everday and then when my period is due I'm normally bed or sofa bound for a few days 😩 The best advice is painkillers and anti inflammatorys like diclophenic or ibruprohen x other from that hot bath or water bottles. I also do light stretches which sometimes help and listen to calming music! I know it sounds a bit strange but it has helped me in the past. I wish you all the best and good luck in your golf tournament x
I know its not much help but it is potentially a sign of endo you will need to have a laporoscopy to confirm it. For me the first signs of endo was lack of energy, serveve pain so much so it was almost daily and the time of the month was unbearable that I just locked myself indoors for a few days. If it is having an effect on your normal lifestyle then potentially it is something more so i would speak to your GP to confirm it.
I know its not much help but try to relax as much as possible and go see a Gp as soon as poss to raise your concerns x Good luck with everything !
Yeah I’m currently waiting for a lap but it’s a 23 week waiting list. My doctor and an endo specialist said they think I have endo but can’t do much until the lap. As my period affects my daily life and so does ovulation and cysts etc xx
Have u tried naproxen or ibuprofen a couple days before u actually come on so the inflammation gets a good dose of painkiller before it happens! Also take some painkiller before it actually happens.
My gp told me to keep on the pain before the pain gets me and it comes from wise gp as she has endo and had hysterectomy coz of it.
So i started doin this... about 3 days before i start taking meds and it has worked a treat. Plus i do follow the endo or ibs diet( as i have that) which seems to make things better to.
Nothing that makes u bloat.
No gluten, yeast, dairy. All veg/fruit and white meat
Yeah I’ve tried painkillers a few days before but it doesn’t seem to have any effect and I have the endo diet but I still get bloated around my period x
I have it in house for my ibs but couple months ago i was period bloated and thought hmmm wander if my buscopan would work as it for “ bloating and stomach cramps” and it was fantastic!!! I also fast on my first day as i just cannot stomach food
Oh brilliant i wandered if i was just getting ibs flares at same time as period but it to coincidental. So im glad the buscopan worked for u to and i wasnt imagine it... i literally felt a stone lighter then normal and was able to eat some food which is a no no on my first day as i actually feel so bloated i feel stuffed , like ive eaten a 3 course meal by breakfast.
