Visible endometrioma cyst!

Can anyone else see their endometriomas? I've been waiting since September for surgery (although it was found in June!!) and I can now feel it and have a constant feeling of fullness and pressure in the area it is, I also struggle to pass poo even though I'm on 8 laxido a day so when it does arrive it's very soft. I've attached a picture (sorry for knickers!) and you can see it quite clearly I'm worried it's gigantic and I'll explode!! (Gotta laugh or you'd cry, right?!) I've been able to feel it since Christmas but I can now see it every morning before the endo belly kicks in and sometimes even through the bloat. Should I contact GP or is this expected? I've also gained shed loads of weight despite not really changing diet or workouts and I don't feel much bigger other than a constantly swollen tum.

I could feel my endometrioma before surgery - it was 10cm apparently in diameter. I couldn’t see it, BUT you are incredibly slim, I am not! Go back to your doctor, always worth it if things have changed for you, even if 9nkyntomset your mind at rest.

Blimey that's a big one!!! I might try and see my gp again perhaps they'll try get me seen for surgery sooner - it must get risky as the size increase?!

I must admit (without wishing to scare you) I did rupture a large cyst and it was very frightening, so get checked out.

I am in tomorrow. I just called the hospital to chase my op and its now August - thatll be 20 months since it was found, it just isn't good enough!!

hi. How are you feeling? Yes I could feel and see mine it's a very strange experience. Have you been seen by the surgeon since it has become this visible? Mine was a troublesome cyst all along but when I got admitted into my local hospital with pain they got my surgery bought forward as you could easily see it. It was the size of a football but the next day I felt so much better. Are you on pain relief? Xx

in reply to Tillyfloss

I feel quite poorly, the pain is more frequent then it used to be. The actual cyst doesn't seem to hurt but the area around it feels so tender and inflamed! Also when any bowel content passes it it is such a sharp pain sorry tmi! I take the pill non stop to try and stop it getting bigger before my operation but that doesn't seem to be working lol. Gosh that sounds horrible but what a relief you must have had to get it out! Did you notice anything in regards to weight gain or general swelling of the stomach? X

And no not seen consultant since September! I've been admitted once, in January, but you couldn't see it at that point and they didn't actually feel my abdomen they just did an agonising internal exam!! X

Are you any further on? X

I've got surgery date for 20th June so just over 5 weeks. This thing has gotten bigger though, so my body is skinny then goes into a huge distended abdomen with a lump on it! Feeling very insecure xx

Hi aimez...

I wanted to reassure you that is not where an ovary cyst would be.

Our ovaries are deep in our pelvis...by your knicker line. Im not sure what that bulge is but it wont be anything in your pelvis.

I hope your doctor has reassured you . X

Thanks for replying. No I haven't had any assurance from doctors, they haven't actually looked or felt it but it's double this size now and my entire lower third of mt abdomen is huge on that left side My ovaries are super mobile and rarely show where you'd expect to see them on scans, but that said I suppose it is still higher than where they'd be even if they are floating around outside of the normal area. I'm seeing my Gp next Monday as I've been bleeding a lot lately despite being on continual birth control :(

I get the same and where your pointing too on your picture is where I get a little swollen and also pain with it. I got told it would be my bowel from where your pointing to when I’ve been examined ovarys are a lot lower hope this helps a little xx

in reply to Natalie221

Hi thanks for replying. Does yours get bigger? Mines double in size since this pic and my lower abdomen area is huge and quite distorted. Am at doctors next week for irregular and random bleeding so will ask them to look again. Thanks

It swells up when I’m due on because I get really constipated up until I’m actually on my period sorry for the info haha I was on the other day and it was swollen and was causing pain and pain down my groin and leg but it eased off after about an hour definitely mention it to your gp though xx

in reply to Natalie221

I will, thanks, as mine doesn't ever go down and becomes extremely visible when my bloatedness goes down so I wonder if it is infact entirely unrelated! xx
