Pain in bowel

Since coming off the pill, the stabbing pain in my right hand side (that I'd always thought was ovary but was told after lap it was probably bowel) has gotten so much worse. I'm not sure how it could be related to coming off the pill, unless there was endo on the bowel but my lap was negative, though not sure if he checked the bowel. I feel like I need to go back to the doctors as my gynae has closed, and tell her about this and ask for a check for bowel issues as the more I think about it, the more my symptoms are sounding similar to having something up with my bowels, but I'm just terrified of being sent out of the doctors office and told that nothing is up as this is my last remaining lead, any thoughts? x

I had a negative lap a couple of weeks ago. My bowels only started to play up along time after all this pelvic pain and stabbing pains in my ovaries. As you can see from my post I'm not happy with how my lap went so am pushing forward as I know my issues stem from my periods and hormones x

Yeah for a long time I felt mine was the same but after 4 years of hormone control not even reducing the pain in the slightest, and all these intolerances and constant wind and bowel pain, I'm starting to feel that I need to look elsewhere, though it's frustrating the consultant said he thought the pain was in my bowels yet didn't look there during the lap x

Definitely worth looking into and doesnt hurt, i think we get to the point where we have to try anything. Go back to the gp and push forward this route. I understand it gets tiring doesn't it going over it all again and again but hopefully they can point you in the right direction.

My gynae said he was going to check up my abdomen for me before I went down, did he ever mention it again, nope. He was in such a rush to get out I have so many unanswered questions.

I really hope you find some answers too x

Yeah I was told I'd get a letter from the surgeon, had to ask for it a week later and it was just a line saying he'd checked womb, ovaries and POD and everything 'was fine' despite being told before my womb was tilted and slightly large, which was a but of a bummer.

Hoping to get back to the doctors tomorrow and see what they have to say, just struggling at lot at the thought that this seems to be the last hope, like if they dismiss it I have no idea where to turn x

Is it worth taking someone with you. My husband did wonders when I was struggling even to get words out.

Just keep pushing them, this is your body and most of all your life. I was rock bottom at Christmas and felt like life would never be the same again. I was lucky that I was put back on the pill and it changed everything for me.

Keep in touch and let me know how it goes. Here if you need a chat or just a moan xx

I've just chosen to come off the pill because I felt it was making me worse and the pain has only really been in my bowel since coming off which has made me wonder!

Thank you, same goes to you x

Just got back from the doctors, she says she thinks it's IBS but wants blood and stool samples to test for IBD, so I'm slightly hopeful as I wasn't dismissed but the idea of more tests (especially blood tests which I hate!) is offputting but I guess necessary x

That's good I'm pleased she's at least taking the next step further.

I totally understand about all the tests, I've just got back from an ultrasound of my abdomen and bladder. I did have all this done last month but general surgery didn't have any record of it. It's exhausting but like you I guess it's necessary.

Do you feel a bit relieved that she's listened to you?

in reply toLittlebirdy34

Absolutely, this doctor always does but she took time to go back through my notes and see what they said about it maybe being a bowel issue and she said if the tests come back negative then she'll diagnose me with IBS and see what they can do for that, so feels good to have some answers either way, and I've been completely discharged from gynae now which is kinda good! x

I'm so pleased it all went really well for you. Hopefully they can help and offer advice to make your bowels more comfortable x
