I'm three weeks post laparoscopy to remove severe endo. My gosh I am exhausted. I walked 5 minutes down the road to get fresh air and its killed me. Is this normal for anyone else? Im finding myself reaching for the rubbish food for high bursts of energy. The pain also hasn't gone yet which is getting me down but staying positive!
Also, has anyone had hair fall out? Im finding when I'm brushing or washing it clumps are falling out. Im not on any hormone treatment and have my follow up for long term planning in May.
Thanks for your advice xx9

Everyone's different, recovery affects each of us differently and depends on what's been done, activity levels before, fitness, diet, general health. Some recover quickly, some take longer. So just take things at your own pace.
I still felt tired after three weeks, I really wanted to go out and be myself again, but just felt completely wiped out so I get you! It took me probably about 6 weeks for the feeling exhausted to go and a further month to feel back to normal energy levels.
Hair falling out can be a sign of stress, you could look into taking supplements, biotin is good for healthy hair follicles and regrowth. I'm sure it will grow back
What to eat is a difficult one, fast food is easy and your body wants the sugars, try going for slightly more complex carbohydrates and sugars such as dried fruits and nuts, I love nakd bars and eat natural bars! If you have friends that cook and you don't really feel ready to stand up cooking yet, ask if they could make you some meals, that way you have a few microwave meals on standby
Thank you for such a positive post! I always try and eat good healthy meals its just the snacks in between I feel I cant function without. I'll deffo be trying some of your suggestions.
Hi Hollie, I had a laparoscopy two weeks ago to help detach my bowel adhesions- possibly caused by endo. I'm exhausted too and have had lots of hair falling out- it was very shocking at first but I've bought some Vitamins to help, and hopefully they'll give me some more energy too. Try not to worry about your hair, more stress will cause more hair to fall out, perhaps invest in some vitamins too ( I have zinc, iron and b12). I also have regaine foam, not sure if this will work but it has good reviews 🙂
Good idea! I'm still pretty exhausted but do have random bursts of energy. I'm hoping my energy returns next week as I have to go back to Univeristy! But overall doing ok- no pain now just tired.
I’m two weeks down and still exhausted and also losing lots of hair. My appetite is awful though, so I think it could be vitamin related. I’ll get some today.
2 months post op open TAH BSO lot of hair fall taking vit E and multivitamins lot of stomach issues. Energy levels are fluctuating a lot was recovering exceptionally well but suddenly seem to have really had a downturn. Had started my 4 km walks within a month. Am wondering if starting primrose oil could have caused a side effect. Dont stress and just give some TLC to ur tresses it will destress you also. All the best.
Hi Hollie, I would agree with the other comments if you are out for fresh air already you are doing well, frustrating as it is rest when you need to, we recover more whilst resting. I had cocodamol every 4 hours after my op and that literally knocked me out. I had a diff op as they had to open me up but I would still say you are doing really well. I have a possible second operation due that they will do laparoscopically get the results of scans etc next week so I’m relieved to read your post I know it won’t feel good for you at the moment but it gives me hope, so thanks for sharing. I wish you well, that your pain goes and your energy returns soon x
Hello Hollie, sorry you feel that way. I had severe exhaustion and fainting spells after my laparoscopy and further tests confirmed that I was anemic. My doctor gave me some cheap ferrous tablets which did not help. After I spoke with my 65 year old mum who is a retired pharmacist, she recommended Ferroglobin tonic (liquid blood supplement made by Vitabiotics). Within 24 hours I was fine. It worked like magic. But don't use it for more than 30 days. You need to move around because it will help your bowels and the gas. Don't exert yourself, take care.
Thank you for the advice. Maybe I'll go to the doctors and get my bloods done just to rule it out. Be a shame if im exhausted for something I could treat!
