I had my lap last wednesday and I'm fine now, just sore where the stitches are. All the gas has gone, but im just so bloated! Im usually a very skinny person ive always been underweight but i look a couple months pregnant!
I thought maybe it was because i was constipated due to all the meds but ive gone to the toilet 3 times since yesterday and its just not going away i feel extremely self conscious already because they have pretty much stitched my belly button together so thats going to be ugly for the rest of my life, sorry if it sounds like im feeling sorry for myself, ive just been feeling incredibly down since surgery :/

You're still healing internally but it should settle down within a month or so. x
Feeling down after the surgery often comes from the anaesthesia and the frustration at feeling so rubbish! I know after my lap I cried because I couldn't make my bed, or because reaching for a cup of tea hurt. The bloating comes not only from the gas but the fact that you're healing internally - a lap is actually a relatively major surgery internally, but because it's a laparoscopic procedure it feels as though it should be minor. Your body is recovering from wherever your endo was excised or ablated... things take time, but the bloat will eventually go away. One week after surgery is still early days, and you will get better xxx The scars fade xx
they didnt find endo but my left ovary was being pulled and stuck on my abdominal wall so thats the only thing they did in my surgery so i think im recovering quite quickly i can do everything now but some movements will pull my abdomen and hurt so im still taking it easy xx
Hi danijonez, I had a lap last week and they found nearly the exact same thing in my abdomen, my left ovary had a lot of pressure on it because my bowel was stuck to my abdominal wall. I only had a brief meeting with my consultant so not sure what caused this to happen. Did they give you any info on how this happened to you?
Yeah the surgeon came in briefly and said I had an adhesion or something with my left ovary and then she just left. I had to stay the night and got them to get my surgery notes which also said I have pelvic congestion X
I’m exactly the same if it makes you feel any better. I had my second lap last week (had my first one just over a year ago) and I’m still very bloated. Around the external wounds is no longer as sore but I definitely feel pain and soreness internally so I guess it’s just to do with the internal healing. Like the others have said, it’s hard to remember it’s quite a major procedure. I massively underestimated it the first time round. Just important to get lots of rest! And I can also vouch for the fact that the scars fade. The belly button one does look very ugly to begin with but in a few months you won’t notice it (I have 3 there now, 1 from having my appendix removed and 2 from my endo laps). Take care and hope you feel better soon! x
I'm squeamish with belly buttons anyway so having the stitches there is not fun lol its starting to look a bit more like a belly button now when i first seen it i cried because it looked so bad, mainly because there was so much dried blood all over it i think. my bruising around the stitches is going all yellow now so hopefully that will disappear soon x
Hi,I also had laparoscopy last Wednesday. I feel bloated too but not much as they said it takes time to go away. But I'm getting a lot of pain in the morning when I wake up around my pelvic area for the past 4 days but only mornings. I don't kno if that's normal? Did u get that too? I hope ur bloating goes away soon. X
it might be because your pain meds wear off over the night?I'm not really in any pain from the surgery anymore just sore where the stitches are but it does hurt in my pelvic area if i strain it or move it too fast as still healing inside x
