Pre Op today & confused

Hi everyone I had my pre op today and given the go ahead for diagnostic laparoscopy. They first of all want to test my husbands sperm but I have noticed on the form it says "seamen anyalysis" & "IUI" can anyone shed some light why when none of us have been diagnosed yet?
