I had surgery for endometriosis 6 years ago, it was mainly around my bowel and I have struggled with IBS ever since the surgery. During the same operation I had a Mirena coil fitted, and am now on my second one. This has really helped as I no longer have proper periods and previously my periods were so heavy I used to pass big blood clots, some months the pain was actually worse than my experiences of child birth. I do still experience low level abdominal pain like a constant dull ache, I also have a diagnosis of vulvodynia which I suspect is linked to endo. I really want to start exercising but I am so tired and have no motivation. I have read about people with endometriosis using hypnotherapy to help with motivation to exercise and that exercise really helps symptoms. Anyone have any experience of this? Or other ideas?
I have seen gynaecologists, dermatologists, psycho-sexualtherapists, a bowel specialist and even a neurology pain specialist but nothing seems to work.
I have never posted on here before, but stomach has been so bad lately... I have two kids, I work and am doing a masters degree and my partner works away through the week and I just feel as though I am floundering... I feel that I need to take control through diet and exercise but just have no energy or time to myself... been sent home from work today, stomach so bad given me a pounding headache... if anyone has any tips I would be grateful...

I follow a strict diet of no red meat, no dairy, no alcohol 😩, no wheat, gluten or sugar.
I follow the endo diet and lots of great recipes on Pinterest also the endometriosis diet book is great it's easy recipes.

Indian diet base is great, lots of turmeric, cumin, other natural spices and herbs help to aid digestion, relieve swelling and inflammation. I had endo removed from my bowelso after 4 years of hospital thinking I had colitis, I was hospitalised for 2 weeks and seen a specialist for colitis for 4 years 🙁. In the end it was endo causing all the problems. I feel your pain x

Thanks, that's really helpful, I'll check out Pinterest. Does feel like you get sent to all these different specialists but none of the treatment is joined up... feel like there's no point going to the dr anymore just need to start being proactive for myself! Thanks again x

Also acupuncture is great, does your hospital have an endometriosis clinic? If so you can speak with them to be put forward for clinical trials, I did a few trials and the support was great as the doctors are trained in endo so have better knowledge and understanding.
