Hi, yes, mine was 10 days. Try prune juice, prunes, fibre but I had resorted to laxatives (problems with constipation in past as Endo and scarring on bowel). I read that your organs go into shock when surgery is performed and take a while to settle. Hope this helps and you feel better very soon xx

keep hydrated so when you do go to pass a bowel movement it's not hard and painful x

Yes, it's common after surgery.

You could try psyllium husk which was recommended by my lovely G.P. Aloe Vera tablets and Milk of Magnesia both work, too.

It does pass. x

Are u taking pain killers? If your taking cocodamol one of its side effects are constipation - it slows your digestion.

I took about 5 days, I was glad it took a little while because I was so worried about having to push. I was only taking paracetamol and drank a lot of water. I’m 8 days post surgery and it’s manageable but all toilet movements are a little uncomfortable! Happy recovery x

I was told by dr at the hospital to take movicol to soften the stool. I was dreading going due to the pain i was in. I had just had a full hysterectomy. I went to the toilet the day after and i was fine. I agree your other organs internally go into shock when you have an op or things are removed.

Fingers crossed for you whatever method you use. 👍
