Hi does anyone else get extreme pelvic pain before a bowel movement? Sorry for the tmi lol
Prior bowel movement pain: Hi does anyone... - Endometriosis UK
Prior bowel movement pain
I do too, It’s pretty constant but worse around the time of my period. I tried taking paracetamol and ibuprofen but it doesn’t make much difference. Sometimes a hot water bottle helps
Hi yes I get this too usually the days before & during my period . Like a sharp shooting pain before going x
Have you tried taking buscopan or colpermin, that can sometimes help with bowel spasms. My GP recently put me on Alverine which helps with bowel and womb spasms. Seems to be helping my bowels more than womb
Yes I do, always leading up to and during my period. The only way I can describe it is an extreme sharp shooting pain in my bottom, it doubles me in two x
Yep I get it in my lower back x
Yes I get this as well. I had a laparoscopy end of October and the consultant said they removed all the endo so they shouldn’t be in any pain anymore but I am still getting 10/10 pain sometimes before a bowel movement. It’s awful and makes me scared to go out and drive etc as it can sometimes come out of the blue and I am doubled over in excruciating pain. I’ve been bleeding constantly since they put a coil in during my lap so my only hope is that it’ll stop when that settles down!!!
Yes I do and it is excruciating! Makes me nauseous, weak, sweaty and barely able to stand up. Like insides being clawed at and getting stuck on jagged edges. Worst with constipation as it will stay that way for days.At least I know I have stage 4 involving bowel now as I went for years not having a clue what was causing it.
Best wishes to you xxx
I get this and I have rectal endo, it’s rough. It always happens when I’m on my period 😩 the pain floors me and I struggle to move and then after 5 mins of pain I need a BM and afterwards I feel much better but still a bit sore inside.
Yeah I get this and I have deep infiltrating Endo on my bowel. I now take my pill back to back so I don’t have a period and it’s better but I do still get it occasionally
The surgeon explained to me that it could be scarring from previous ops causing this, it’s improved a bit for me since they removed the last lot on the peritoneal wall in Sept x
Yup! Mostly in the morning when my bowels are "waking up". They found that my ovary was attached to my colon at my last lap in November and have detached it. I still get pain but not as frequent or intense!
I haven’t actually been diagnosed but I get this sometimes too. It’s a sharp, shooting, stabbing pain whilst on the loo that can take your breath away or make you call out in pain. Have just checked my symptom diary and this seems to happen to me on my period so I wondering if there is a link to endo?
