I was on Co-codamol for pain relief but it is not working at all. GP yesterday can my a prescription for tramadol and naproxen. Just wondered if this works for anyone, seems to be making me really drowsy, will this go when I get used to them.

Hi I have been on tramadol a lot, makes me really poorly. If am in that much pain nothing works lol, but tramadol your body has to really get use to it unfortunately I have never been able to settle on it. It's a good pain killer but a nightmare to be on. I hope it works for you! I know how your feeling xxx

Tramadol is an awful pain killer for me it made me dopey type and feel really woozy then I got passed that stage and it made me feel Like I could do anything I had incredible amounts of energy and I wasn't eating I was getting addicted to it I loved the way I was feeling but when the affect was wearing off I was supper aggressive it was awful I had to cold Turkey for 3 days it was horrendous. Just warning you what it can do to you wish you all the best with it and hope it works for you. Naproxen just gave me constant diahrrea I wasn't absorbing food properly. Hope they work for you xx

I have been using tramadol and naproxen everyday for about 5 years now. I don't know how I would cope without it. Tramadol will make you sleepy and dopey, may even make you feel nauseous at first, but after about 3 weeks you get used to it. I felt great on this combo and still use them today. Ps never take tramadol and cocodamol together. They are from the same family of drugs (opeates) and taking both together would be an overdose. Naproxen can cause problems with the stomach so if you get stomach pains then go to doctor and ask for omeprazol which will help to line the stomach before taking the naproxen. Good luck hope they work well for you as they have done for me. Take care x

Hi Kitty, Thanks for your reply, can I just ask, do you only take when in pain, ot all the time. Do you worry about driving once you have taken the Tramadol. I took them for a week and felt much better, but prescription has run out but going to doctors tomorrow so am going to ask for them on repeat, but am a bit worried about diving on them as I believe you can get prosecuted for drug driving on them.
