Hi!

I have just yesterday had total pelvic Peritoneal excision surgery. All endometriosis cut away and the pelvic lining as well as my bowel shaved. I am in a lot of pain and wondering how long it will last for, has anyone else has this done and can advise please? Currently on morphine and still it hurts to move!

Many thanks

Jess 😊

You will be sore. Take the painkillers the hospital gives you. Was it a lap? If so it could be gas pains. xxx

Hi Judan yes was a lap. They cut away all growths and removed all lining and shaved my bowel. Have you had this procedure? The surgeon said I had severe deep penetrating endo and my bowel was stuck to something etc. In agony when I move although the nurses seem to think I should be moving a lot more... Xxx

I had stage 4 endo and adeno. Ovaries where kissing and left had a chocolate cyst. Pouch of Douglas was obliterated and pelvis full of adhesions. Bowel was stuck to my back, and ovaries. I had a total hysterectomy and endo excision.

Endo had not infiltrated bowel so it was just shaved luckily.

Nurses do want you up and moving quickly but it does help you get rid of the gas.

Much better thanks, almost 7 weeks since op. Consultant said it's a 8 to 12 week recovery so almost half way through.

A high operation but I couldn't continue with the very heavy bleeding and constant pain.

How's your pain today? Xxx

Hi Judan sorry for late reply. Really glad to hear your feeling much better now 😊 are you up and about easily or still in pain? Yes I agree after years of suffering it's worth the surgery to (hopefully) feel well. Xx

I'm recovering well, no pain as much, just uncomfortable bowels, after being stuck down for years they are not yet back normal.

How are you feeling now? Xxx
