In Pain after 3 hysteroscopies in 6 weeks, and now have my period - Yay

Hello. Well where to start!

I am 40, have had horrific periods (like from a horror film) for most of my life. I started taking anti bleeding tablets about 10 years ago, tranexamic acid, hard to spell!

I don’t think they make a huge difference, as most months I get through 40 pads During my periods and they last for 9 days if I’m lucky, 14 if I’m extra special!

If I sound pissed off, I am!

In August, I had a 3.5cm cyst located on my right ovary. That burst, and I ended up In A and E where they eventually found a large area of polyp in my uterus.

I went for one hysteroscopy, after trying to cancel it due to having my period. They assured me they could do it. 3 times! They couldn’t so I was Called back. Then went again, they did the procedure but couldn’t remove the polyp because it was bigger than expected. I then got an infection from it! Then they called me back because they needed to use MyoSure to remove the area.

This has all been stressful, emotionally draining, painful and upsetting. My partner and me have not been able to have sex because of the pain and because they say not to before each hysteroscopy so its taking its toll on me further.

After the Mysore on Friday, I got my period and am now in horrific pain! Codeine isn’t really touching it.

Just wanted to offload really. Feel like I’m going mad.

Support welcome!

X

Hi sorry to hear your having a crap time, I don't blame you for feeling pissed off It gets to us all at some point or another.Totally understand about not being able to be physical with partner, it can put a lot of strain on your relationship at times. I hope they understand and are supportive, it's not just them that misses the fun.

sending you big hugs

Thank you so much for replying! Yeah he’s amazing but just feel guilty, even though I know it’s not really my fault. I am definitely going to call the doctors first thing tomorrow as it’s horrific really! Hope you are ok! X

It is hard to deal with but glad he's understanding makes it a little bit more easier for you to cope with.Yes get in touch with GP you can't go on like this. Have you told them how much it's impacting your relationship, it all adds to your list of symptoms.

I'm not too good at moment just plodding along with treatment till my hysterectomy.

Hi this sounds horrendous for you. I use to take codeine but then that stopped working for me and now I take tramadol. Maybe ask GP for stronger painkillers as you can’t be left to suffer this pain.

I know how to feel. I often feel severely pi@@ed off with having this illness. It takes its toll on you and everyone else close to you x
