Hi everyone! I've been recommended getting a tens machine to ease the pain, I was wondering whether anyone had purchased one which they would recommend? There's so many out there but I don't want to waste my money one one which won't work!
Which tens machine to buy?: Hi everyone! I... - Endometriosis UK
Which tens machine to buy?
Hi Lloyds chemist has a few and on sale most of the time I've seen from 12- 40 pound I have not tried them for pain but used one during labour which surprisingly did help!! But I was looking last week when I was collecting pain medication and did think would it help??, which unfortunately I do not know but thought I would tell you the prices because I know boots and online are very expensive. Hope this helps and hope you find one that helps you xx
Thank you for your response! I'll have a look in there then. I've been told that it should help with my pains, I had the coil fitted 4 weeks ago and still in a lot of pain so hoping to find something to ease it other than medication!xx
I have the non hormone coil had it for 3 years nearly never had a bother expect it was placed wrong one time and it was because I had a tilted womb which I didn't know I had so they removed it and replaced it. It was very painful and started to slit the inside of me so had to get couple of stitches felt it when sat down or moved certain way so maybe look into this as the coil should not hurt at all. Maybe ask whoever fitted it to have a look and just see if placed in right position xxx
Hi, have you checked for the threads? If the coil is in the right position you should be able to feel them sticking out of your cervix. If you can't, then it's out of position.
It's also possible for your GP to send you for a transvaginal ultrasound. That shows the coil position clearly. When I had pain a few weeks after my first Mirena, I found it very reassuring to know it was in the correct position. Gradually the pain settled.
I got a portable one off amazon for about £16 but didn't help as the pain is too deep and I couldn't get the pads close enough to my left ovary but may be worth a try x
Look on mumsnet they have someone saying same as you honestly so many people said same as me tilted womb please get it checked as I think yours is in wrong position takes minutes to find out and get it sorted half hr and then not one bit of pain. It's not right to have pain with a coil that's not normal !!!! GP visit for u asap x
I don't have coil fitted or tilted womb thanks. Just rv Endo stage 4 with left ovary mangled with bowel and uterus etc. Too complex to operate. Got 2nd MRI Monday x
Hi Alice. I'm sitting with mine on just now and it works! Doesn't completely take the pain away but I think it kind of distracts you from it to make it more bearable. I put 2 of the pads really low down on my back and that seems to give me the most relief. I got mine from Boots, their own make, and think it was around £60 which seems a lot but if you get the use of it then it's worth it and it's easy to get new pads for it too.
Hope you find one that works for you and makes life a little easier x
Hi, I got mine from Lloyds for about £14 and don't think I would have survived without it! They should have one on display for you to try the effects. Not everyone is prepared to put up with the sensations (even though you can vary both them and the intensity. But I would rather have the those sensations than the pain!
The pads can work out expensive, but I buy them a few at a time off the internet.
Hi all, thank you all for your responses. I'd thought I'd update you all and let you know I bought the wireless one from Lloyds, I've used it for two days where my pain was at its worst and I must say, this helped A LOT. I would definitely recommend it!
Hi all, I bought the wireless tens machine from Lloyds pharmacy and it works wonders! I can still feel the pain around my knees when I get cramps but the source of the pain is definitely less when I use it! I would definitely recommend it! It's easy to carry round and easy to use!
Can you put the pads on your stomach?
