Bests TENS machine?

Currently suffering with a severe flare up, and dosed up on strong painkillers. I have been looking into getting a tens machine and one that is portable that I can wear to work (carrying a hot water bottle makes me look crazy). Obviously I was looking at myoovi but it is pricey and worried if it doesn't work it will have been a waste of money. I have also looked at Flo-ova which is on Amazon and also has good reviews. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or experiences with tens machines?

Hi

I didn’t get on with tens made it worse for me. I tried a battery powered one. Best thing apart from meds is a rechargeable heat pad, you use power banks and I have spares to keep it going. I got mine on Amazon.

HiI think it's worth giving tens a try. I initially picked up a really basic one on amazon to see how useful I found it, it had lots of long wires and definitely wasn't public friendly but gave me a chance to test if tens might work for me. I then invested in a Myoovi and think it's great. 9 times out of 10 it makes my pain a lot more bearable and means I can cut back on the amount of pain meds. I've worn it to work, family dinners, the supermarket etc and am able to get out more than I usually would. The sticky pad can get a bit uncomfortable but it's less uncomfortable than the cramps!

Obviously everyone will react differently to it and it might depend on how bad your pain is, and it's not cheap, but if you start to add up the cost of painkillers it starts to look less expensive!

This is my view. I am spending a small fortune on painkillers but I also don't like taking painkillers too often but my pain at the moment is unbearable so trying to find different ways to help with it. I have ordered myself one from Amazon and also some multivitamins to just see if anything helps

I have the Flo-ova one and it works really well for my pain flares! I tend to wear it before bed time and it settles my pain without the need for lots of pain killers!

I’m not actually sure how different to the Myoovi it actually is!?

I actually ordered the Flo-ova yesterday as it had good reviews and came up as the 2nd recommended on an independent review site. How long does it last before you need to recharge it or change the adhesive part?

depending on how often you use it just recharge when it flashes red… and same for the sticky part! I just kept wearing it until the stick wasn’t as good and the electrical impulses weren’t as strong… at that point I changed the adhesive part.

I bought some spares so always have to hand!
