I have woken up today rally nauseous, I am not due on until next week. I have pain on my lower right abdomen (which flares up every few days anyway) but this morning it is really bad. Bowels are a bit sporadic but not anything out of the ordinary, I am at work but worried I may have to go home. I have my specialist appointment next week, does anyone else ever get this?
My lower right abdo is visibly swollen and hurts to touch, have had to pull my trousers up so they are closer to my belly button so theyre not rubbing there. Also feel like I am about to have a period but I am usually regular (give or take a couple of days - but never over a week). Definitely not pregnant.
Sorry, just wandering if anyone else gets this? I'm not asking for medical advice but is this normal? I cut out dairy and havent had alcohol recently (well, Saturday).
Getting very scared

Hey Hannah, I'm still new to this Endo thing, but in my short experience with it so far, that sounds normal.
I'm also waiting for my specialist appt and they put me on birth control in the meantime so my period is like clockwork now. Period started this past Thursday, but the pain started the Wednesday of the week before. Had to stay home from work Wednesday and Thursday, then things let up so I made it to work Friday, but then Saturday things got bad again and stayed bad until Wednesday evening - let up Thursday so I made it to work that one day last week, then when I was home, my period started and everything went to hell in a hand basket again.
So it was pretty much an awful week of PMS on steroids before my period even started.
During this time, I seriously look mildly pregnant because my belly gets SO swollen and sore to the touch. I wear all my loose fitting dresses and such if I do have to go out.
Everything you've said is in line with what I know to be true for this awful diagnosis. I hope your appt with the specialist goes well and you're able to get the help you need! Best wishes!!
I tried the pill in Dec/Jan and it turned me crazy! I was crying all the time and accused my partner of never wanting babies, even cried in public on a date with him! So I am reluctant to start the pill again... those nasty hormones!
How are you finding going on the pill? I hope it helps. Ah I think I am the same now, i think today is just period pain starting really early! Which is so rubbish! I get really swollen too, but its getting earlier and earlier every month. I spend over 3 weeks of the month in pain now. I don't know what my appointment next week will do, but I am so sick of feeling like this I'm either sore or tired or swollen... this is the least attractive I have ever felt Just a few pain free days would be wonderful!
Sorry for moaning on, thanks so much for your reply xxx
I experience nauseousness and pain as well before I am about to come on my period, however I can not visibly see anything flare up so I think you should get yourself checked out. Either book an emergency appointment or go to the walk in center - if the pain is unbearable I would go to A+E.
I'm not due on until weds or thurs next week... so am worried the pain may be starting so early. The walk in centre will send me away as it's not a fracture or break, I have asked for an emergency appointment to have the receptionist attempt to triage me over the phone as call back tomorrow. I can;t miss work tomorrow as I have a busy clinic to see patients in... and my manager is already accusing me of "not being a team player due to my absences". Scary. I might try A&E if it is still bad later, thanks so much for your reply xxx
I made the mistake of putting work before my health and I was accused of more or less the same and work would not accommodate me. To eliminate work stress, I would join a union and tell them your problems as they can help you get rights or exercise your work rights which HR should already be doing to accommodate you.
I'm already with a union, they haven't been much help to be honest I was sent to occupational health (ended up making a complaint about the woman I spoke to). They suggested a hysterectomy or a hot water bottle. Bunch of idiots!! I don't know what to do about work, if i get another job i will be on my feet a lot more which could be worse... I hope you are doing ok now xxx
Omg that is terrible! I can't believe they would even suggest that! Are you able to get a second opinion? My union weren't very helpful either but I asked around to lawyers and picked the unions brain so that I can put my case forward myself. In the end they have suggested that I can adjust my time of work so to avoid traffic and a break out room where I can go to rest and lie down if I need to. Maybe it's worth looking for a job which is predominately desk based? If you are uncomfortable where you are I would suggest to move, there are plenty of jobs out there but only one of you so put your health first!
Thats great you got help and advice My job at the moment is a lot of desk work (not what I signed up to!) but I am a nurse so used to being on my feet... I have just applied for a new job which will be a lot of walking and standing but I will also have the option of requesting certain days off if I can, so will request in for a day off for first day of period etc. I am still in a lot of pain today, but when I was in clinic and standing a lot my pain was better! I have just eaten though which usually makes it worse. Am losing weight at the moment but still swollen haha, swings and round abouts! Thanks for your replies, I hope you are having a good day and not melting! xxx
I'm sorry you're feeling like this. I'm new to this, have not had a laparoscopy yet so no 'definitive' diagnosis but I frequently have pain in my lower right abdomen like you're describing, hurts to the touch, can't lay on it and swells up at times. I really hope you're feeling better soon x
I have my appoinment with gynea next week, I have been going to the gp with pain for three years so its just getting worse. I haven't had official diagnosis yet either, its horrid! Thank you so much for your reply, I don't feel so dramatic now! xxx
It's ok I've felt dramatic over the last month with it all, I feel like I need to stamp my feet and make someone listen. I can't understand why there is no medication to take that just sorts it out 😡
I'm definitely with you on the foot stomping! It's just frustrating as no one can see what's going on or how you feel.. so people say "But you look fine?" all the time. boo hiss boo!! I wish there was something as well, a magic wand perhaps!! xxx
