Since Friday (had my laparoscopy Thursday) I've had a strange itchy rash across the front of my abdomen - it is not very red nor itchy all the time, but all the same when it gets itchy it is very irritating!
I'm not sure if it's just a reaction to the type of iodine they used or something...? Any ideas please...!?

I still have 2 of the dressings on, but I've never had a problem with plasters or anything like that before... It's really strange - it goes up to my bra line and half around my side towards my back 😕 don't want to fuss at the GP if it's nothing + just baffled as it isn't very itchy all the time!
I went to the gp after my lap and I only had a tiny rash (which was the dressings!). She told me she would always rather see patients who didn't have anything wrong than not see them and there be something serious. She also said reassurance is part of her job. Hopefully your gp is also nice like that and will not mind if you go and see her. A rash like that is definitely not normal!
I went to the gp in tracky bottoms with unwashed hair... my friend drove me so I didn't have to put any effort in other than walking to and from the car! 😂
I had the same thing after my surgery. They told me it was a reaction to the stuff the but on you before surgery. I just put benadryl cream on mine and it went away.
I too developed a rash after my lap. My ob/gyn said it was a reaction to the drapery adhesive. Super itchy the first week, fairly itchy the second week, and then the itchiness tapered off. However, the redness remained for a good four weeks. I used cortisone cream on it, which helped somewhat. I would mention it to your doctor so they can record the fact that you had a reaction. That way if you ever have surgery again, they can avoid using the same equipment. Some of the images on Google for post-op rash are pretty ugly. Hope you heal soon!
