Light at the end of the tunnel?

Hi Ladies

I wanted to post this to try and give some positivity and hope to some...

I was diagnosed with endometriosis last May 2016 after experiencing and secretly coping with the symptoms myself for many years. I had a diagnostic laparoscopy in August which confirmed I was riddled with it, and was put on prostap menopause injections whilst I waited for the next op to remove it all. I read a lot of horror stories about prostap but apart from the hot flushes I actually felt amazing on them & I was completely pain free!

In November 2016 I had the endometriosis removed and was put on the pill (with no breaks) to hopefully keep the endometriosis at bay. But 10 days after the op I was experiencing terrible endometriosis pain and it became more and more regular. I was devastated. I experience endometriosis pain after orgasm as well and it was starting to take over and really affect my life. It was hard to stay positive.

I decided to seek a second opinion after waiting for 3months, and the merina coil was suggested. Again I had read loads of horror stories but this has completely worked for me and I wanted to share this with you and let you know in case it helps someone else. I did have awful period pain like cramps for a few weeks and bleeding for a few weeks but I have had no endometriosis pain! It did take a few weeks but it has worked for me, and I am excited and hopefully to be able to have a pain free life for a few years at least!

I really hope this helps someone else as I know how hard it is to live in pain and feel like nothing can be done to help you, and know how hard it is to stay positive.

Thank you so much for this. I'm truly happy you found something that works!

I've been on the coil for 4 weeks now and still struggling but GYN wants me to persist. So only time will tell.

I did start to panic that the coil wouldn't work - I had cramping, bleeding and my lower stomach felt quite swollen but it has worked out and completely settled. I really hope it works for you and have my fingers crossed.
