Uncomfortable and in pain
Hi Laura sorry to hear your feeling so uncomfortable sleeping on my back was hard to get used to as i never sleep that way! are you keeping on top of your pain meds? the gas may be causing discomfort too so maybe try peppermint tea. With regards to bathing i was told not to have a bath as they didn't want them submerged in water for 5-7 days? i know its not the most hygienic of options but maybe just washing in the sink for the first few days save risking anything happening? Hope you feel better soon xxx
Thanks hun. Seem to be getting a lot of pain in my belly button were the camera was placed. Is this normal? Xxx
Hi. Pain is normal for the first few days you may only have tiny incisions but inside will be very battered and bruised. Take it easy, try to walk around a little to ease the gas pain. If your belly button gets worse see your GP as it could be infected, this has happened to be 3 times! Antibiotics usually sort it quite quickly. Worsening pain is usually a reliable tell-tale sign of infection. Regarding a bath you shouldn't submerge the stitches as it increases the risk of infection, a quick shallow bath to have a wash will be fine, but don't lay in it with water covering your stitches. Hope you feel better soon.
