Surgery marks - Laparoscopy

How long does it take for surgery marks to heal after a laparoscopy? I've heard it can take years!

Had my laparoscopy at the end of March. Still not healed up yet.

Hun you need to see GP, they normally only take about 7 days to heal over on the outside. Inside probably a bit longer. Are the incisions open or do you mean the scars are still visible?

The wounds are not open. I had dissolvable stitches put on when I had my surgery. But they are still visible.

They will fade over time. Try using bio oil on them . I had abdominal hysterectomy in March and used it twice a day for three months and the scar has faded quite a bit. Actually stands out less than my scar from when I had appendix out 20 years ago.

I'm almost a year post lap and my scars are still purple and sore. They get more prominent when I exercise. I had no idea they would be this sore for this long ! x

Mine get sore sometimes and more prominent when I've done too much physical activity in one day and when I look at them I know I need to try and stop doing what I'm doing for a moment. X
