Hi all I had my laproscopy 7 days ago and it feels like I have internal bruising on both sides of my abdomen is this normal? I know I have been prodded and poked and so it probably is but just wanted to see if this is something others have had and how long you had it for. Or could it be that I may have overdone it a little? Thanks :-)

Hey,

Yep you will definately have internal bruising and scar tissue as they have gone through muscle and the belly button, which will cause that tight pulling feeling.

Dont panic mate,its all normal.

Its a bit early for you to start massaging the tummy area.

At about 4 weeks i started getting massages on my lower back and abdomen,to relieve the tightness so i cld stand up straighter and move more freely.

You should have someone do that for you.

Keep walking and stepping that up each day,as it loosens those muscles.

Drink plenty of water,as the muscles use water so will remain tight if not enough water.

You are doing well by the sounds of it.

Kind regards

Rose

Take it slowly, move around a bit to start helping the muscles and also wear relaxed clothing (maxi dresses etc) as having air around wounds helps heal them.

I had bruising for about 6/7 weeks but I did overdo it a bit the first week or two. Your body will tell you when its had enough and listen to it xxx
