Persistent thrush

What do people do with persistent thrush linked to endo? Mine only started since I had my lap but I have not been able to get rid of it. It seems to lay dormant for a while and then flares straight back in to severe , no build up. Have tried 7 day flux caps pom internal thrush cream. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi,

I believe it will be the pill causing the thrush not the endo mate.

Try difflucan one tablet only should be gone in 48 hours.

Also try eating lots of yogurt to right the balance inside a bit.

Kind regards

Rose

I get it and I am not on the pill. Doctor gave me 6 month course of thrush pills but after reading what long term use could do I took to more natural remedies. They were to take a good probiotic (Biokult) and reduce my sugar intake. It worked a treat!

Hello, I had a similar issue, having thrush every few weeks suddenly going from fine to unbearable within hours! My GP eventually prescribed canesten oral tablets for 7 days and then one every week for a month-this was three years ago and I've had it only had it once since!

There is hope!

Hi Hopeful, as rose said it can be caused by the pill. I had thrush more or less constantly for 4 years whilst on the pill. I saw different GPs, gynos and dermatologists but nothing helped and they all insisted it had nothing to do with the pill. I eventually took it upon myself to stop taking contraception pills as an experiment and the thrush cleared up within weeks. That was 10 years ago and I haven't had it since.

I had it all the time pre lap, I took 2 tablets a day of acidophilarus I bought it from Holland and Barratt myself. I'm in the U.K. But read online Americans place a capsule inside the vagina when it's really bad. I've tried natural yoghurt it soothes the area and I only wear cotton can't wear frills and lace I find it comes back. Reducing sugar and eating clean does help also. Really feel for you thrush is awful to have. The fluconazole capsule has worked for me in the past too and I've had metronidazole antibiotics that have worked also.

I find the Yasmin pill gives me thrush every time I stop for the 7 day break. Hope this helps and you get sorted.

Hiya. I had thrush every month for 5 years in my early 20's with my GP saying that just happens to some people! I found tablets called Xtralac (I think that's how it's spelt). They target overgrowth of yeast in the gut. Took them for a few months and it cleared completely. Good luck :)

Is thrush linked to endo?! I'm just starting out being investigated. I'd never had thrush before until my 3rd pregnancy 6 years ago, it was awful I had it every 2 weeks, now since I've had her I still get it 2-3 times a year infact I had it last week, I was on the pill but haven't been for a year or so now x

Pau d'arco tea is brilliant too to drink and coconut oil direct up inside the vagina and around is great as soon as you can feel it coming on . Also using mooncup instead of tampons helps. I was put on the pill for the first time in my life at 41 and had thrush again so annoying and horrible :(
