Hey ladies, so does anyone else feel like they have thrush all the time?!? As soon as I get rid of it, it seems to come back again. I follow the guidelines as much as I can (loose clothing etc) but I don't seem to have any improvement. Any tips that people have found help?? Xx

I find less sugar intake, cotton underwear, just plain water in the bath no bubble bath and usually I have a shower trying not to wash too much to irritate it more. I found a lot of reviews for Acidophilarus (think that's how it's spelt) when I can feel it starting I take two tablets and then as it's going I take one tablet for a few days. Then if that hasn't worked I take fluconazole from the pharmacy. If it's irritating and you have it a lot speak to your gp I've had metronidazole to remove the infection if it's not been sorted by the other methods.

Sorry for the long post. It's awful to have you have my sympathies.

Yes!! I have had infection after infection for nearly 2 months! Have you been to your GP to discuss? Definitely avoid using just water or soaps to wash yourself. I use aqueous cream every couple of days to wash which does help. You can get a massive tub for a quid from savers or pound land. Hope this helps!

Ooo, I have aqueous cream from when I had heat rash when pregnant but I never got round to opening it. I'll try that. I've been to the doctor before and they were useless. Just told me to buy canisten but keep ignoring the fact it keeps coming back. I do things like wearing tights every now and then because I have to for work but its hardly ever and really shouldn't cause this :s xx

No it really shouldn't! But I think it is worth pushing!! Give the aqueous cream a shot with the canasten pessary and see how you get on x

I've found a cup of Dead Sea salt in the bath has helped me immensely. After 2 nights of having a 20 min or longer soak it's gone. I generally have a Dead Sea salt bath twice a week for the magnesium/relaxation but I've noticed it seems to keep candida at bay too. When it hits, it also seems to help me if I cut down on sugar and take probiotic drinks or supplements. If that doesn't work I get the tablet (the unbranded version of canestan oral tablet) from the pharmacy. I've not had a problem with tights as I always wear ones with a cotton gusset (m&s) and cotton underwear. Good luck! X

Are you taking contraception pills? I had trush more or less constantly for 4 years while I took them. During that time I saw loads of doctors and dermatologists, nothing helped. They all insisted that stopping the pill would make no difference. In the end I just stopped taking the pill to see what happened and the thrush cleared up within a few weeks. That was 9 years ago and I have only had it a handful of times in that time.
