hI all, this is my 1st post although I have been reading lots of things on here.

I have always suffered very bad period pain, and also quite irregular, and bleed from 6-10 days. The past few months, pain has just gone way to bad for me to suffer anymore so I went to the doctors. I was terrified incase I had the nasty C as I was also over due my smear. Ive not took any contraception for a while, I used to get the depo. No periods for a long long time.

The pains have had has been horrendous, especially when I was having a period. Been tested for infections, all clear, smear normal. Doctor said I may have a cyst on my overlies so off to hospital for an ultra sound, internal and external. No cyst.

Still gettin pains, and she has said I have all the symptoms and pain for Endo and has given me Cerelle to see if it will help as will hopefully stop or regulate my period and if I do have one it will be very light. Ive only had 4 pills and the past 2 days I have had chronic pain, Cramps, and also someone is twisting my insides with a hot poker Amongst other pain in lower back and pain from what feels like the groin upto my hip, hard to explain.

Bladder again feels like I have pressure against it.

Doctor has said give Cerelle few month and if I am still getting pain she will refer me to a specialist.

I have spent the entire day in bed again, in pain, codiene. Paracetamol and mefenamic acid not really helping at all and hot water bottle over my abdomen.

How long does this pill normally take to have an effect ?

Btw I am a young 45 years old :-) and no signs of me going thru the change xx

Hi can't really help with pill side of things, but it does sound to me like you have endo. Please look on the BSGE website and find a specialist centre near you then go back to see GP and tell them you want a referral to them. I would make an appointment asap as it can take a while to get appointment with a endo specialist. Also mention that the pain relief isn't working for you and they may try you on something different. Please don't just sit back and put up with the pain take charge with GP and tell them what you want to happen. Good luck keep us updated.

I'm in the same position as you . I'm on cerelle while I wait to see gynea. It helped take away the extreme pain but I'm now very irregular and have 'normal' period pain most of the time. I've just started my 4th packet. Apparently it can take 6 months to settle

I was on loads of diff pills none of which seemed to work the pain got that bad that I was then prescribed morphine which helped somewhat but not always i would defo advise going to see a specialist as mentioned as ive had 4 laps and im 26 and still have endo now but hoping that i could still have children im also due to go for an internal ultrasound this week hoping that the one ovary that work is working inside but it defo sounds likeyou meet the endo criteria hun, i know how you feel xx

Thanks for your replies.

I've made an appointment at doctors again, I'm going to push them for a referral.

It's the not knowing what's wrong, but with this much pain, something is not right.

I really feel for you all, and the long suffering a lot of you have had to put up with xx
