Thank you for your reply. I started with recurrent tribe infections, lower back pain, heavy and painful periods, 1 day of my period I am in so much pain it reduces me to tears and I have a high pain intake. Bowel problems. I don't no if this is because of endo but my mood swings are very in normal. I don't feel in control sometimes and I feel like I push people way. It's awful. I got it checked out 2 years ago and I decided not to have key hole but all the symptoms are worse and I went back and they said I should do keyhole. So I go on the 23rd of November.
I am so sorry to hear you have so many health problems. I knoelw about being im pain, problems with emotions and difficulties to explain why you feel this way.
I wish you all the best for your operation. I stood in your shoes last year and know the feeling well. Good luck!
I was so nervous I almost packed up and went home! Not going to lie, recovery hurt a lot but I got my period two days after lap. It's been two months and I'm glad I did it in the end. Hope you get some proper treatment and start feeling better soon. 💙
Oh no, this will be me. So u feel benefits after the lap,? That's great! I can't take much more of some symptoms I am crying a lot and it's taking over my life some days. I am Very nervous about going for the opp on the 23rd of November. Did you or did anyone get really bad mood swings, I am usually a very friendly, easy going person and now I feel like something takes over me.
Yeah my mood swings were a bit all over the place, mainly because of the frustration of being in pain so often as it has been affecting my bladder and digestive system too. Also the anxiety associated with anticipating the pain of a period was bad. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions 😊
Hi I had my second laparoscopy on Thursday (last one five years ago) its the only way to diagnose endo no other way! I was very nervous but was looked after very well. Hope you get sorted soon xx
I was in your shoes in august when i had my diagnostic lap and laser treatment. I had been off work for about 3 months in the run up to it and had been run down, tired, moody and in pain with really bad skin for about a year before gradually deteriorating until it was unmanageable day to day.
I was extremely nervous going in for surgery. Any kind of surgery freaks me out so i was very worried but also so hopeful it would help. I tried hypnosis videos on YouTube in the run up to the surgery which i think really helped. I was held up just before i went into surgery and the delay left me shaking but before i knew it i was knocked out! When i came to, i was groggy and a little tender and i couldn't stop shaking. I think it was from the nerves i had pre surgery. You get plenty of time to sleep off the anaesthetic and you'll probably get strong painkillers a couple of times when they're doing the rounds. I was determined to get home the same day even though they offered for me to spend the night. In hindsight, i wish i had stayed. I know most people would prefer to be at home but i couldn't control my temperature and it was extremely difficult to get comfortable in bed (i have a partner that hugs a lot during the night and i was worried he'd hurt me! ). I think being able to sit up slightly for a sleep would have been better so my advice is, if you're offered the chance to stay and you're not 100%, spend the night.
I took leggings with me to leave the hospital but they were difficult to put on and a bit tight just because you're tender. Take loose pjs and your dressing gown and just leave like this! I saw another girl doing it and thought why didn't i think of that?!
It took me 3 days before i could put socks on so make sure you have someone that can help you get about. Otherwise, i got back to normal really quickly. I had more colour in my cheeks, my skin completely cleared up, my mood lifted and i had so much more energy and could properly concentrate at work again.
The scars healed quickly. One had a little lump under it (like scar tissue) but that's gone down a lot. They get a little itchy as they heal but otherwise, no issues.
I know it's really scary but you're doing the best thing. Getting a diagnosis is half the battle i think.
Very anxious about the surgery but I no it will help: I'm willing to try anything now as my moods and the pain is unreal sometimes. I felt so alone when I found out about endo but so many women are in the same position. U have made me feel much better about the whole idea of surgery and some good tips there so thank you. Will let you no how I get on next month.
