Yasmin contraceptive pill.

Hi there everyone! Hope everyone is having a pain free day!

So after a consultation with my gynecologist he has suggested I start the contraceptive pill yasmin after around 9 years on dianette/co-cyprindol (which was specifically for my severe acne and hair growth/PCOS)

I'm now on the waiting list for my third lap to remove Endometriosis.

I was just wondering what people's experiences with this pill were like?

He's also recommended that I consider the mirena coil although I'm very sceptical about having that as I've not heard the best about it but know it's meant to help with heavy bleeds and severe pain.

So! Any feedback, advise or shared stories will be super helpful. I'm trying to be really concious about what I'm taking as I want to make things better- not worse.

Lots of love.

Jordan-Melissa

Hey! I took Yasmin for a few months however I experienced very bad nausea with is pill. I think I am just not great with hormones though as I've taken many different ones and always experienced horrible side effects! The only one I can take that doesn't affect me too badly is Femodene.

I am also reluctant to try the mirena coil as I've heard horror stories about it on here!

I hope Yasmin works for you x

I was on Yasmin for about 2 years post lap... It was great for my hormones, my periods stopped, I lost weight (a good thing) and my skin cleared.... BUT... my moods were terrible.... It was like I was shrouded in a dark cloud, anxious and depressed. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why I was behaving this way and then it struck me that I had began feeling this way a few months after starting Yasmin... I went to the GP and changed my pill... Eventually the dark cloud lifted and my character returned... It was the pill causing the depression! Just something to be aware of xx 😊

I've been on yasmine for over a year now as I was admitted to hospital and they decided not to do an other laparoscopy due to me being considered under weight. This pill has really helped with my pain, however means that I don't have periods. However just had one really heavy one a few weeks ago. hope it helps you too.
