Hi yes I did but mine was not as bad as yours I had it done last Nov best decision I made no pain no a discomfort I still have my tubes and still get the symptoms munches and hot flushes but no pain or heavy periods . They did say at time this may not get rid of it but life has changed so much and I can spend my time with my son aged 4 and not either in bed or on the toilet for 4 days of the month

Hope everything works out for you xx

Thank you!

I already have damage to my left tube, so I'm not sure it's best the to keep, or have removed...

After my last surgery, I was told my that the only other thing was to have a Hysterectomy, but because of my age, I should try to put it off...

But being in hospital every 3 to 4 weeks for a week at a time.. Isn't a way to live! I had 6 months of hormon jabs right after the surgery and as soon as I stopped it was back.. Along with having all the side effects from them!

I have a five year old and a partner who works away, so finding it hard to handle! Xx

Hi bless you its hard with little one back and forth to hospital . Not sure how old u are or if you want more children but personally I would go ahead . My session I found easy we struggled for years with Ivf 3 times with donor eggs my expired at 35 we added our son 2 years ago and wanted to spend time with him rather than being ill . They first did the coil but that made me worse and then told them what I wanted . Which they did.

Hi Tracey Anne,

I had extremely widespread endometriosis (so bad that during my lap the doctor couldn't see my organs properly for the endo) so laser or excision was not an option for me and it was advised to go for the hysterectomy.

I also had a lot of cysts and adenymiosis (excuse the spelling!) which was causing it's own set of problems.

I had my subtotal abdominal hysterectomy (everything out except my cervix as it is stuck to the muscle wall of my rectum thanks to adhesions caused by my endo, nice!) May last year and it has been the best decision I have ever made.

I have had the first virtually pain free year in over a decade thanks to my hysterectomy.

I do get bursts of pain, it can feel like endo pain, but I think it may be nerve damage due to the op, but it is so light a pain that I don't even need to take pain killers for it.

Which compared to the cocktail of drugs I was on for my endo is fantastic!

I know not everyone is as lucky as me but if it's between having a chance at a relatively pain free life with a hysterectomy and living in agony without one? I'd go for the hysterectomy.

Also, in regards to age, I was 34 when I had mine.

I wanted more children but was told that I would not be able to conceive naturally again and even if I did fall pregnant I would likely miscarry again.

So, for me, my infertility made it an easier decision as what was the point in keeping it all when it wasn't working!

I'm on the lowest dose of hrt and I have had no problems with it so far, and I'll be on it for at least another 18 years, so please don't be scared of it if it is offered to you.

Hi. I had similar with endo and also severe Pmt and painful ovulation. Tried varying hormone treatments from pill, coil etc and even Provera but couldn't tolerate them. Recently had just my ovaries removed as consultant said full hysterectomy not necessary and shorter recovery. Its 5 weeks after op and physically there but have struggled with hrt. Tried patches first and now on tablets which seem OK. When I think about it I don't feel worse than I did before which is a plus and don't have the pain! I am sure once the Hrt is right it will be much better. Some people are very lucky with no problems from Hrt, but I would just say for me it's bit of a roller-coaster getting it right, so be prepared! Personally I don't want to be taking it at all but many of the alternatives are soy based which I can't take due to thyroid problems. There are lots of options so don't let it put you off, but don't expect miracles straight away! I am not saying I wouldn't have had the op but I was unprepared for thr Hrt dramas. Do lots of research.Take care.

Thank you everyone!

Sorry I,m just replying but this has been one of them bad bed weeks..

I did go and see someone yesterday and hysterectomy is my way forward, because

Endometriosis is widespread they won't do lazer again and until they go in they don't know if it will be a full hysterectomy..

And to some of your questions! I'm 43 and am lucky that I do have children.

I have had 3 miscarriage's and at the time they couldn't give me a answer why? One was a very late miscarriage, but I am still thankful for what I have got..

HRT is not an option for me, so that is something I will have to deal with after, but if I can get up every day and just get out of bed, I'll be happy..

I do think that could be more done for us, and why dose it take so long for this to be diagnose and we have to wait so long for treatment.

Let's hope there some changes soon and I'm wishing everyone good health!

Tracy xx
