It's a lot more detailed than an ultrasound as it is a camera going up rather than looking through your tummy. Theyll be able to see if theres any polyps there and can take a sample of the womb to test for various things (not sure what sorry!). When i had mine there were i think 4 nurses in the room all so kind! One was holding my hand and just chatting, I had the coil fitted which was painful but the rest was okay. Although it may seem like something theyve done before its so worth doing, they didnt find anything in mine which led to me being reffered to someone for advice on the next steps so even if its all okay you will get advice on what happens next!

Hope that helps!

Did you get a diagnosis in the end? Thanks for your message xx

It didn't give any answers unfortunately but because of that I've been refferred to the colorectal clinic as they think i may have endo hidden around my bowel instead of possible adhesions in my womb as first thought, xx

Good luck I hope you get some answers soon, what are your main symptoms and how long have you had them? X

Thank you! You too! Hmm i always had v bad periods but around 4 years ago I was getting pain everyday but was dismissed a lot endo was suggested. Last year the pain was everyday and resulted in me being asked to leave uni halls as i was on a lot of risky painkillers (morphene etc) i decided enough was enough and after numerous stints in hospital things started moving. I seem to have every day pain on my left ovary and when severe pain is in both, sounds silly but some things ive only just told dcrs about as i thought it was normal! Such as i get severe stabbing pain up my bum when on my period and i have to run to the loo ive only just found out that thats a symptom of endo on bowel. This is my symptom that concerns me most atm as at uni i get embarrassed having to run out of class etc. this is the main thing that has led to my recent refferal. Ive had a lap which didnt find it but as i have a lot of symptoms and big family history they believe it is hidden. So alhough a long process its worth every step as one step closer to getting a solloution! Sorry thats a long reply!

Hello, I had a diagnostic hysteroscopy a couple of weeks ago to find out whether the growth inside was a polyp or a fibroid, as they couldn't tell from the transvaginal scan. Turns out it's a submucosal fibroid. I was able to see the camera feed, and instead of making me feel squeamish, it was actually helpful to see the fibroid. A couple of days ago I saw the consultant who recommended a second hysteroscopy to remove the fibroid. Fingers crossed that will help (don't know what's going to happen with the endo).

I was worried about it, but it felt 'odd' rather than painful, and was no worse than a smear test (for me). I took a painkiller beforehand which probably helped, and my sister came to the hospital with me. I hope your procedure goes well and that it's a positive step forward for you.

I had this done other wk and found it to be ok. I didn't even realise i was getting it done. Anyway found some sort of shredding. Took biopsy showed consultant and has to be removed on 12th oct. Does anyone know what im having done? Do I get put to sleep etc. I'm getting really nervous. Only had this done to see why I can't fall pregnant and thought I had a polyp after an internal ultrasound. Would really appreciate some help here. Thank you xx
