New to the group! I have just been referred for a laparoscopy and would like some advice/reassurance x

Hi, I am Hannah, I am 32 and I am from Yorkshire. My medical history is in 2008 I was diagnosed with endometriosis and having a bicornate uterus and I had a laparoscopy to remove an endometrioma and to perform a reconstruction of my uterus. Previous to this I had had several miscarriages and I went on to have a further 2 post op. In 2013 I became pregnant but suffered from placenta previa and had several bleeds and had to have an emergency c-section at 33 week's.

Now to get on to the more personal stuff, sex has always been uncomfortable as has smears etc. I still suffer from a lot of stomach discomfort, bloating, ibs, weak bladder and irregular periods ( I have had the merina coil in for 6 months). My doctor referred me to a gynecologist and they sent me for an ultrasound, nothing showed on the scan but they say they want to do another laparoscopy.

I don't know what to expect from this op?!? With my previous one I knew that there was a cyst and that they were going to do the reconstruction, but because the only thing driving this one is just the discomfort I worry that I am perhaps wasting the surgeons time?!

Any sort of advice or reassurance would be welcome. I have also requested that they sterilize me during the laparoscopy, in fact, during m c-section there was talk of a hysterectomy and I often wish it had happened!

Many thanks x

Sounds like your having a horrible time, big hugs, this forum is the best to help with advice/best wishes etc.

I've had laparoscopy numerous times before and find what ever they did worked for me for at least a year, I've recently had an ultrasound and it showed a cyst but gynae cons I saw said she would do ablation and pop a camera in to have look but no act on anything that was found, let's just say through some fab advice from here over the weekend I've been to see GP today and I'm finally going where I need to x x
