Hi LisaMarie7,

I've taken yasmin before. To be honest I didn't get on with it well but I've always had problems with the pill. I was given a number of different ones to try throughout a year and just couldn't function, couldn't stop bleeding, and was just generally weird on them. This could be completely different for you though as I know others that have taken it and found it very effective. I ended up having a Marina coil fitted as it has less oestrogen in it and apparently I already have high levels. I would personally suggest trying it, as from my experience I thought well the more I try and the more it doesn't work, the more they HAVE listen to me! But I'm stubborn like that! :-) hope this helps :-)

I was on this for 3 years. I didn't have any side effects but the pain seemed to be worse for me. When I came off of it the pain seemed to be more manageable but the bleeding was heavy.

I took Yasmin for 2 weeks, it was a big mistake and was glad to come off the tablet. The side affects were nasty I had no idea what I was doing or feeling until my hubby noticed something was wrong and nearly did the unimaginable thing that would have been so devastating to my family.

Yasmin has been great for me. I've posted about it before so have a look through my old post for more info. Good luck!

I've just seen that I have replied to your earlier post about the same thing.

I was given Yasmin as the first treatment for my horrendous periods when i was 14, within 12 months I had gone from less than 6 stone to over 9. As a teenager who had always been very very petite this was so hard to deal with and made the emotional issues with endometriosis even harder. I had regular periods that were a little lighter but still suffered all of the other endometriosis symptoms. When I requested to change to something else i was told that "I should eat a banana instead of anything bad and do more exercise, it was my own fault I was fat and nothing to do with the pill because it was the most expensive choice of pill for the NHS and therefore the best" ... ridiculous! Safe to say I went to get another opinion and was told to come off it straight away ...

I know we're all different but my experience was not good!

Hello,

I have been on Yasmin for about 12 years and I love it! Sadly, my endo has gotten worse so am going to try Zoladex and have had too many laps now to warrant another.

There are side effects for everything - reading about it doesn't help matters.

All you can do it try it and hope for the best!
