Yasmin really worked well for me for a couple of years. I found that it balanced out my hormones and I had good skin with it too.

You shouldn't take it over 35 as there is a risk of clots. Some people can get migraines with it too.

I tried so many pills and it was the only one that really suited me. You should perhaps be going for one with low estrogen and high levels of progesterone.

I took Yasmin for a while, and it didn't help me at all. In fact it made my depression and pains a lot worse I wanted to cut my wrists. I'm so glad I stopped taking them.

Yasmin may work for some people and may not. Just keep an eye on the side effect.

I've been taking it for about 2 years post-excision surgery and it's been really good for me, and I was over 35 when it was prescribed. There are no hard and fast rules, and you can get clots at any age. It depends largely on your other health factors i.e. weight, migraine history, smoking, mental health etc. The GP/gynae will thoroughly grill you before prescribing it so if it's been suggested you must be in fairly good health otherwise. Ultimately any side effects will show themselves quickly and should you choose to stop taking it, the hormones leave your system pretty quickly compared to injected hormones.

Have a look through my previous posts as I have responded to others in the past. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Hi Lisamarie7,

I am currently on yasmin and it works wonders for me. I take it back to back to help stop my periods and control my endo. I tried other pills like microgynon and cilest and they never worked for me because I kept having spotting and breakthrough bleeding. I do not have those on yasmin. No side effects yet so I would say give it a try because it has been amazing for me personally.

I've been taking it back to back for at least 3 months at a time for years and upto recently it's really helped with my pain and other symptoms. I didn't suffer any side effects and my skin is nice and clear. It's been worse lately and I've been bleeding for a month, but I don't know if that's because I had a baby 6 months ago but I'm going to see my gynae soon anyway.

Hi Lisa how you doing? I took Yasmin for years. It's only when I came off it to try for a baby that I started with symptoms and then later found out I had Endo. The only issue I've ever really had with it is that it's made my migraines 10 times worse (but I didn't figure that out until I came off it). I went back on it after my failed ivf last year to give me some relief and it worked wonders for my pain but for some reason (maybe because of the ivf) I had a lot of break through bleeding.

Give it a try and see how you get on. It does wonders for your skin. However for me it stopped working it magic for controlling my Endo so I will be trying something else in the future but for a while it was my life saver
