On waiting list, managing symptoms .......?

Hello am awaiting date for laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, in the meantime trying to manage symptoms!! Doc gave me naproxen for the pain but it gave me severe stomach cramps so now she has prescribed menafemic acid, have read the instructions and looks like it's just for period time ... My main pain at the moment is for around two weeks during ovulation with severe back ache so assume I can't take this? The fatigue has set in again as well! Saw the consultant end of April who said she would put me on waiting list and that I would have surgery within six weeks, I have just called the appointment office to try and see where I am on the list and they said you will be waiting eighteen weeks, not six!!! So now instead of being positive about knowing something finally happening, I am back in the dumps gggrrrrr! Any advice appreciated
