Prostap remains in the body in trace amounts up to 4 months. But that does not necessarily mean that your pituitary gland will fully wake up in that time. The pituuitary shuts down vital hormone production of several hormones that regulate activity the body.

When it starts to work again they don't all restart right away.

Your pituitary factories will restart in a staggered way, usually but not always - restarting the most important of the hormone production then one by one strting production of the others.

Hopefully it doesn't tke too long before all factories are in full production again.

Unfortunately -for reasons not yet known- this frequently doesn't happen and some hormone production takes absolutely ages to restart and some never do in small number of cases - leaving patients with long term or even life long side effects.

The pituitay gland is only the size of a pea, so we are taking minute factories here.

If you look up the pituitary gland online - you cn find all the hormones that is is known to produce in normal circumstances and you can find out what those hormones do.

Therefore without those hormones you know what the side effects can be.

One of the is governing temperature regulation of the body.

Another will govern your ovulation cycle. In the case of periods the average wait is 5 months, so half of women will have their LH hormone factory wake up earlier than 5 months and half will wit longer. It is not a high priority hormone.

Temperature regulation would be a higher priority- so you would hope to see that fctory bck in business sooner rather than later, but there is no definite time frame - we are all different in that respect.

It has nothing to do with how much drug there is left in the body after you have stopped taking doses of GnRH. The drug has overloaded the glnd which caused it to shut down.

Stopping the drug does not automatically switch the gland back in to working again.

The waking up of the pituitary relies on separate functions to get it back in business.

Hope that helps explain how the drug works a bit for you.

Don't expect AF for quite some time. 5 months waiting is the average length of wait. I would say try and enjoy the period free time while you can.

Thank you for your reply, no AF's for a little while sounds great but unfortunately I can't start clomid until the AF's are back on track :(
