I'm due to have a lap in April for severe endo, choc cyst and patch on my bowel. Just wondering if it will help me feel better?

Has anyone felt better after a laparoscopy?
I hd a laparotomy - and it did take quite a long time to recover - but having had so much work done and hd a mirena installed to stop my periods I am in a much better way these days. It made a huge difference..................eventually.
Thanks for you response. How long do you think it will take me to recover from the procedure? My consultant said a couple of weeks.
Took me a good week for my tummy pain and shoulder pain to go (drink peppermint tea!) then about 3 weeks after to get back to normal walking around etc/going to lectures. My consultant said around 6-8 weeks.
I'm just recovering from my first lap and it's definitely made a difference. 4 weeks on and I'm stil in a bit of pain but nothing like before. Good luck xx
Hi I had a lap ovary removed and a lot of endo removed back in june, i was off work for 2 weeks but would say i was back to normal after 3. I thought it had solved all my problems as I was pain free for 6 months, but the pain is back with a vengeance and I'm now considering the coil x
Hey I had my last Lap last Monday I'm still sore but I'm ok I can get around now not driving yet but I cooked dinner last night. I've had 7 laps now and in my experience I've managed to last a year or so pain free after. Good luck oh & drink the peppermint tea it works x
I had my second lap two days ago. Had endo lasered and adhesions released. The worst thing straight after is the gas trying to escape from ur shoulders. I tried peppermint tea and I think it helped. Moving around and massaging helps to move it too. I'm up and about already, but still taking a week off work to fully recover. Took about a week to recover last time. Each person takes diff recovery time. It took about two years after my first lap for pains to come back bad, but I had a baby after first lap and apparently that holds off the pain for a bit. It def made a difference though. I'm glad I had it done.
