Hey Bex, it can be due to endo. I was diagnosed last year and always before and during my periods 100% I get severe cramping, feeling sick and always being sick. Just like you now my period sometimes will be late and i will still have these really bad symptoms. Even when i'm not on or close to coming on i've got these symptoms due to endo x

You have to do a ultrasound scan to make sure that your symptoms are not due to endometriosis or other gynaecological problems. However, the gold standard diagnostic test for endo is laparoscopic investigations. If you have any abnormal findings in your ultrasound, your doctor might offer you a laparoscopic investigation.

I had an ultra sound in june and it all came back clear, so there was no sight of anything untoward then but the pain has gotten worse since then. I'm so lost and confused as only my GP is giving me any word of sense?! and he has to keep sending me back to a gyne that doesn't seem to know his elbow from his arse! I'm just becoming rather frustrated by the whole situation

Hi Bex,

I went though a similar thing for at least 4 years before only just having an ultrasound in October and a Lap on 9th Dec. In the 4 years I've seen about 5/6 different GP's, had a few abnormal smears, been referred to gynae, had colposcopy, had an ultrasound, seen a different gynae and now finally had my lap. All I can say is the whole process is frustrating and time consuming and you really just have to keep going back to the docs and even asking to see different GP's etc.

My ultrasound showed gas in my bowel which made it present as enlarged and also a tilted uterus but my lap found no endo which I am convinced is wrong. I'm finding it really tough just now between dealing with GP's who don't know much and prescribe you whatever comes to mind on the day, the results of the lap which showed not much at all as well as my work because I've been off.

It's not an easy fight, I just hope you get the answers you're looking for from persevering.
