Which has been more successful for you in treating the endo in a laparoscopy?

Laser or diathermy?
It depends on the depth of the endo.
Both cook the endo and if it is shallow surface level endo then that is usually enough.
however a lot of endo is not just surface endo it can be burrowed quite deeply in the tissue that it is growing in/on and for the deeper endo neither laser nor diathermy is going to get to the root depth of the endo, and excision of that type of endo lesion is the only way to stop it in its tracks. Otherwise the burning of the top layers is all that happens and the endo underneath is still going to remain and still be active after the op.
Both types of burning give the same after op sensations of severe sunburn inside and prickly itchy tingles for weeks and weeks afterwards as the burns heal. It is niggly and annoying but not too painful..more irritating than anything because you want to itch but can't.
not much and neither is a substitute for cutting out the deeper endo. Have a look on youtube for both procedures- there are lots of vids there which show various methods of attacking endo lesions. Looks a big gorey- but you can see then how the gadgets work on the endo.
Thanks have avoided you tube to date but it sounds useful way to find out. Good idea, thanks x
Both laser and diathermy are bad; make sure you get excision surgery.
Do all the specialist centres do excision surgery?
I've had diathermy which lasted me a year before my Endo symptoms returned. I'm an NHS patient and none of the hospitals in my area have offered me anything other than diathermy. If I could choose I would pick excision
