I'm still swollen and still sore 7 weeks after my lap.

I can still only wear elasticated waist bottoms as I can sit them under my bump! I can't stand the seat belt on me so have to put a cushion between! Has any one else experienced this and when might I start to see a difference? X

It's not common, but not unheard of. To be honest my belly button was tender and I couldn't wear jeans/trousers with a top button for months and months. Even up to a year my work ID card hitting my belly button area wasn't pleasant either (had to shorten the lanyard).

If you aren't seeing any gradual improvement/reduction, and aren't able to increase your activity by a little bit every day then it's worth seeing your Dr to rule out infection. Keep an eye out for sickness and a tempreture or general acheness as these can all be signs of something untoward.

Everyone recovers at a different rate, I didn't do a full day at work for nearly 8 weeks after my op, and I'm normally one of those annoying people who sits at my desk however poorly I am spreading my germs. I also found that I was getting better, then started a period which instantly set me back.

Don't hesitate to call your GP tho honey, better to be on the safe side x

Hey i had my lap op on the 1st July and im still swollen and in pain. my lower wound hasnt fully healed either. Driving is out of the question for now and sest belt is sore i need to hold it off of my belly. I know its not been quite as long as you but doctor tells me it can take a while for your body to fully recover, ive spoken to some women who have taken months to recover from the lap op. your insides need to recover as well with having any endo removed.

Do speak to your doc if you havent had any improvements though

xx

I'm still no better but I've spoken to my consultant and he wants to see me, just waiting for an appointment. Went back to work yesterday on a phased return, I have to drive for my job so I've still got my cushion to keep seat belt off my tummy. I thought after having this op would be great but I'm in more pain than I was before, it's driving me mad! Thanks for the reply hun and I hope you are feeling better soon X

I was told by someone that surgery actually makes endo worse it feeds/grows on the scar tissue also and hidden endo will come to the surface after the endo they can see is removed at time of op causes it to come to surface. Ive got my consultant appointment on the 18th sept will see how i am by time that comes around. I was in a lot of pain especially when i was swollen before the op but i have been in agony all the time since op and more pains down my legs than ive ever had.

Hope appointment with consultant goes well for you and you feel better soon xx

I was told that too but I was hoping to be one of the lucky ones who felt better for a while, wishful thinking. Keep smiling X
