Sore throat after lap

Hi all,

Has anyone else suffered with sore throat after surgery, was told it’s common because of the tube just wondered if anyone had it and how long it lasted x

Yes it's just the tube. Your throat should be feeling much better in about 3 days. Drink plenty chilled water or juice that'll really help.

I had my op 4 weeks ago and my throat was rough afterwards too xx

Hey, I bought like soothers to help my sore throat. It’s just from the tube but it lasted about a few days for me xx

No worries, it’s a horrible feeling like it was making me feel sick as my uvula was inflamed and catching the back of my throat 😫 x

Yeah that’s how mine is, I can actually feel if sitting on the back of my tongue x

Hey, yeah- I found the throat pain more uncomfortable than the incision site... It may be because when I woke up after mine I was screaming and shouting and lashing out (sounds funny now...) - A few days and it will be fine :) xx

Hey, I went down at 3.15 & woke up at 5.30. So was a while, but I can actually feel my tonsil on the back of my throat it’s a weird feeling x

Yeah I had throat pain first thing I said when I woke up was that my throat was killing me!!! 2-3 days and it should go just drink plenty of water xxx

Yes I have with all of mine, the longer the op the worse my throat was.

It lasts about 2-3 days.

Hope your op we went well and you recover smoothly xxx

Thank you, my tonsil is quite swollen as I can feel it on the back of my tongue xx

Mine last 3 to 4 days.Take papermint tea and hot beverages
