What do you mean by : my blood glucose test was 51 ? Mine is 7.2 and my GP is perfectly happy with that. Anything around 7 is okay by him.
Just wondering what country you're living in. It might be the reason for such a huge discrepancy.

51 for hba1c sounds like it is in UK. It is hba1c not a finger prick test
Yeah. That's what I figure. I never had a finger prick test. A few months ago, my GP told me that my blood sugar levels were thru the roof and they were only 9.6. got pricks and needles galore tho and lots of numbness in both feet.

I like to keep mine in the 5s as on no medication only diet
Very true and that is what I have done
U are right Fatbuddy . 9.6 is A1C . But I was at 9.6 only once since diagnosed 5 years ago. Now I am at 7.1 with metformin. My GP is over the moon. Carbs are my downfall and my diet is terrible. A lifetime of lousy food choices led me to that. Only have myself to blame. Hard time losing weight too. Decided to go for coolsculpting as this seems to be the only way to get rid of belly fat. No amount of exercise is gonna work for me. Am too far gone but that's besides the point. Sleep well everybody.
ps : kidney is doing great and latest blood test is great too. Just have to cut down on bread + hotdogs. Eyes are ok but neuropathy can be painful sometimes.
In the US it's below or around 7.
