Ok I'm a newbie to this community, I was diagnosed with type 2 last week after recently having a heart attack.
So I have no clue as to what it is although I've been given advice to exercise and change my diet, I'm experiencing terrible sciatic pain and cant do the exercises and have gotten into a cycle of feeling sorry for myself and changing habits that are life long are proving difficult.
I understand that what I have is serious and life changing as was my heart attack but it's so strange to find myself in this situation. Please forgive my expression of emotion but I had to express it somewhere and somehow.

Did your doctor say anything about what you can/can’t eat? Did they put you on any medication? Do they want you to count carbs. for each meal and/or snack?
Just to let you know the dietician has arranged a telephone consultation but it's in 2 weeks time, so I guess I'm gonna have to do some preliminary stuff of my own back and eat less and healthier reducing sugary stuff.
You're welcome. When you're done with the call in the next 2 weeks, please let us know what you have been told. If you have any questions, please keep asking them.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Just got done with lunch today here.
