Recent diagnosis of type 2 diabetes

Hello everyone.

Ok I'm a newbie to this community, I was diagnosed with type 2 last week after recently having a heart attack.

So I have no clue as to what it is although I've been given advice to exercise and change my diet, I'm experiencing terrible sciatic pain and cant do the exercises and have gotten into a cycle of feeling sorry for myself and changing habits that are life long are proving difficult.

I understand that what I have is serious and life changing as was my heart attack but it's so strange to find myself in this situation. Please forgive my expression of emotion but I had to express it somewhere and somehow.

Welcome to the group.

Here is some information for you to read/listen to/download anytime for free from the DRWF’s website dealing with Type 2 and Diet/Exercise. If you have any questions about anything, please let us know and we will be happy to try to answer your questions to the best of our abilities. Did your doctor say anything about what you can/can’t eat? Did they put you on any medication? Do they want you to count carbs. for each meal and/or snack?

Hello

Thanks for the response.

I have cardio rehab going on with services.

I have a telephone consultation being organised with specialist dietician and will be seeing a nurse from my gp surgery next week in follow up.

Please let us know what you find out from both phone call and your GP’s office. Also, please show the information that I gave you to them. 😀👍🌈

Hello

Just to let you know the dietician has arranged a telephone consultation but it's in 2 weeks time, so I guess I'm gonna have to do some preliminary stuff of my own back and eat less and healthier reducing sugary stuff.

Thank you

You're welcome. When you're done with the call in the next 2 weeks, please let us know what you have been told. If you have any questions, please keep asking them. :-)
