Steroids with a general anaesthetic now ketones

Hi

Had a general anaesthetic 36 hours ago with a steroid for nausea and still struggling with really high tests, ketones and feeling rubbish no matter what I eat or how many correction doses I have. I came out of hospital today on a test of 12.8 and ketones had gone down from 1.4 to 0. Now I’m on an 18 with ketones on 0.5 despite eating salad for tea. The surgeon seemed a bit fuzzy on her knowledge of ketones but said the steroid would have gone 12-24 hours after the surgery. My diabetes nurse is ringing on Monday and luckily I’ve been signed off. Really miffed as I’ve been doing really well ! Anyone else know about this and how long it lasts?
