Diabetes diet plan
Less carbs is probably the best way to go. Porridge on a morning is slow release of carbs & keeps you feeling full for a long time.
Check with your GP/Diabetic Nurse and have a look at lowering your carbs. Some people do low carb high fat but that isn't suitable for everyone. In general lowering your carbs and getting some exercise and watching your portion size is a good start.
Hi umar54 ,
Has your doctor suggested eating low carb and adding more protein to the diet? For me, eating more protein keeps my numbers on a steady and even level. Please ask your doctor about the idea and let us know what you find out. Not everything is going to work for everyone. Everyone is different and so are the results.
Low carb/high fat works well for me and has maintained my blood sugar around the borderline type2 diabetic for over 3 years withouit medication, which is always a treatment and never a cure.
