  • Avoid milk powders as they contain sugar. Instead use natural full fat milk in small quantity. It will be better if you switch to green tea.

If you are on LCHF diet then what is your diet? Your BS levels are very high.

  • What do you eat?

How many grams of carbs does your daily meal turn out to be?

Milk Coffee/tea, I have rarely proposed.

  • hello sir

Thanks for mail . further as per your mail the details of menu as below

  • Remove all milk powder, milk, bread, sweeteners.

Restrict to 2 chapatis a day, with no more than 1/meal

Add nuts to your life. They are good for snacking.

Add VCO to your life. 1TBSP Releases energy as quickly as 2 slices of bread (brown/white/whole/etc does not matter), and that too without spiking blood sugar.

  • Treating through Homeo medicines is possible for better control of Sugar levels as well as avoiding other serious effects of sugar in blood .But this needs a full personal study of the patient which is possible through personal and direct contact with Homeo practitioner with lot of experience. If you are in South India you may please contact me for further details-Dr.D.H.Rao (09962264476).

  • Since how long you are on lchf?

  • Nothing can replace a natural full fat milk with processed and powdered Milk for help you need to put other details as been asked Diet chart as you are on LCHF diet i assume by default you shouldn't be using skimmed milk /powdered milk at all . some people can tolerate Milk some can't i don't think the spikes are due to that i guess you are on High carb diet try to restrict them and as u said replace your coffee with green tea or lemon tea . meds also work if u be on low carb diet .

  • Actually what prompted me to ask for his actual diet for the day is because despite glynase his numbers are very high. His diet 3 months back was fully loaded with carbs from 3 slices brown breads, cornflakes and 4 rotees when his numbers were 240 -290 fasting and 300-310 gm PPBS.

From those levels he has come down to 160-180 FBS and 220 PPBS. So he has a 90 point drop, wonder if he further needs to really count his carbs more aggressively and add fat to diet, or if pancreas is really all on the verge of being burnt out completely as a result of being on such dangerously high numbers for so long.

Milk he was advised to replace with curd from whole milk which has highest fat content. Slimmed milk is not even good cat food. FAT is needed as carrier of nutrients.

We still need to know how much carbs are being ingested on daily basis.

  • oh i c ! exactly then i am sure he needs to test more stringently the BS levels ! when its not getting down even on low carb food and if the reading are persistent for a month then no alternative but to increase the meds or switch to insulin . carbs has to be replaced with fat diet and carbs has to be restricted with right dose of meds and needs to be checked regularly .

  • Fasting blood sugar should be less than 100 mg/dL and post-prandial blood sugar should be less than 140 mg/dL in order to avoid diabetic complications.

Undergo HbA1c test. A1c is a lab test that shows the average level of blood sugar (glucose) over the previous 3 months. It shows how well you are controlling your diabetes.

Target value should be less than 7%.

  • Friend for better control of diabetic please avoid milk any form liquid or powder. Other then tea you may use vegetable juice. Remember if you follow lcfh diet you will not feel hungry and you need not require to old suggestion I.e. you have to eat every two hourly light meal.

    Thank you

    Best of luck

  • Eating every 2 hours is most nonsensical and impractical solution. These experts just cover their guilt with all such stupid recommendations.

  • Normally diabetics take at least 3-5 hours to normalise their BS. Eating every two hours will only increase the base line level.

  • Yes I realise two to three meals per day is suffice & you realise more healthy. Light & more energy to work. Remember our body require very little carb. for our brain which body can make him self. And you will improve your nutritional ketone body. That's good for us.
