Hi, I am a newbie, I am a compulsive gambler, was sacked from my job in October last year after making bad decision, and awaiting a decision on what will happen to me. I am currently on Mirtazapine and zopiclone, I have suicidal thoughts have started having panic attacks and feel like I can't go on, please help. I have no one to talk to my family no nothing about what I have done. So alone.

Hello I'm sorry to hear you feel so down. I wonder if you were gambling at work that's what I thought? I could imagine myself doing something not great at work. Are you seeing a counsellor or psychiatrist? Due to my struggles at work and more I am now requesting more telephone counselling through the NHS.

You can pm me

If you have a suicide plan please go straight to accident and emergency at the hospital.

Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide on the web is specifically for young people but may help.

Remember these thoughts aren't real, it's the illness playing with your mind. Stick to your plan and trust in the medication, it will take time to feel better. Ask your GP to be referred for CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) this could help both the depression and the gambiling. Good luck :-)

Are you appearing in front of a Tribural for your work ?

It may be a good idea to contact some gambling organisations such as Gamblers Anonymous, they work a buddy system to keep you both straight, you will find them on the internet, there are other organisations, that will be your decision.

Doing above may help you get over this bad habit and give your Employer? the chance to see you trying to help your self
