Constipated but in U Colitis remission

As above, I've been in remission for 3 years. Odd times I get a little constipated, but nothing alarming.

Currently though, I'm having immunotherapy for NSCLC, and that seems to have it's own constipation issues.

Wondering if there's anything I can get from a weekend chemist or supermarket that will help as it's been 4 days this time. I'd prefer to 'go' at home rather than another hospital trip (an undignified one at that!).

I see my oncologist next Friday so will mention it, but need some relief.

I have UC and use Laxido daily to keep things soft and moving along. It's an osmotic laxative - retains more water in stools. Maybe after 4 days you need more of a stimulant? Some people swear by Milk of Magnesia, or senna. I think I would ask your IBD nurse for advice, if you have one. In the meantime, drink plenty. Try strong black coffee!

Thank you.

Husband got some glycerin suppositories from the pharmacy to soften, and I used one, but started to be sick just over an hour later, and twice more during the evening.

Still didn't manage to soften the stool enough to pass it either.

Feeling quite poorly today, so think I may need to phone the oncology unit for advice.
