False calprotectin?

Hi can calprotectin be false? I have a reading of 338 but no loose stools, only pain near appendix which isn’t appendix

I believe I read somewhere non steroidal anti inflammatories such as aspirin and ibuprofen can lead to false positive result

do you mind me asking why it was done? IBD has periods of flare ups and remission, so perhaps things have settled down

Hi. The pain in your right side is really typical Crohns pain that’s where the ilium is. Also Calprotectin can be high with infection as well as IBD
