just had a craniotomy
hello I joined this group to hear how others are recovering from their crainotomy. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago to remove a meningioma which I’ve known about and had annual MRIs for the last 12 years. I’m kicking goals with my recovery was sent home 24 hrs after surgery due to no space in hospital

Post-surgical hemorrhagic collection and compression by an enlargement of the postoperative tumor cavity along with bleeding
Hello, I had a
craniotomy
in 2020 for Atypical meningioma grade 2. At present, the cyst of the tumour cavity is enlarged and now the size is 4.5 cm. Along with Post-surgical hemorrhagic collection and compression by an enlargement of the tumor cavity, there is bleeding in the brain.

Looking for advice
It resulted in a
craniotomy
and I was in an induced coma for a couple of days. I'm slowly beginning to feel better but I just don't feel like myself. I'm tired all the time and I get angry over nothing. Any support or advice would be most appreciated

Recurrent meningitis
The most recent surgery, which was a
craniotomy
, was just 1.5 years ago, and I suspect that there is still the occasional drop pf csf and therefore I'm at risk of meningitis... again.

Confusion
Anyway after
craniotomy
/cranioplasty, alloplastic was used to replace skull and eye bone. First week I spoke like a toddler but having speech help and support I kind of in a way back to how I was, nearly 4 weeks the finally discharged. All BT removed however cells/remnant possibly remained.

Boyfriend has a TBI
The doctors decided a
craniotomy
was needed. Dan got through that okay and was talking and seemed to be okay but he started having seizures. The hospital put him in an induced coma on Friday.

Bad car accident
My adult child was in a bad car accident and had to have
craniotomy
and craniectomy. They are doing better now it's been two months but the psch Dr keeps trying different meds that don't help or make them more tired. They have also been put in propranolol for headaches.

Watch and wait
Watching and waiting feels like living with a ticking time bomb although really scared at the prospect of a
craniotomy
!! So hard to come to terms with just not knowing what lies ahead. Sorry just needed to sound off!

Seeking information about encephalomalacia
He received a bleed to the brain and had to have a
craniotomy
. Amazingly he recovered and even went back to work but in 2018 I noticed a change in his walking and a movement in his eye . We were waiting for an appointment with a neuro-opthamologist when covid struck -and so the nightmare began .

Post brain injury hallucinations?
My son, following meningitis and a
craniotomy
last month, has informed me that he has started seeing a large black figure at the end of his bed whilst he is awake and it's making him fearful to sleep. He has been on anti seizure medication since the incident.

9/21,
Craniotomy
, removed tumor (PC). 6 months later, 3 lesions, brain, PC. 5/22, SAS of tumors, subscribed Lupron & Erleada. Since then, all's well. The lupron keeps the PC out of the lymph system in the body, the Erleada penetrates the brain.

update / husband
He sustained a severe head injury and had a
craniotomy
. He can only open his right eye at the moment (his injury is on the left side) He now has a tracheotomy and they are weaning him off the ventilator which seems to be tiring him out. He is nodding when asked a question and muttering words.
