Radiotherapy Experience?

Hi, I had a craniotomy and resection of petroclival meningioma in May 2022 but as attached to brain stem it can’t be fully removed. Due to minor growth and change of shape I am having radiotherapy starting on 22nd for 6 weeks, Monday - Friday, what has been other peoples experience? They say possible hair loss, nausea, loss of appetite and tiredness - did anyone experience these side effects - if so how bad and did it begin straight away? Be interested to hear views , thanks.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to the group. It's very understandable that you have questions about your upcoming treatment and I'm sure members of the group can share some good advice. We also have a useful page on radiotherapy, which includes information on having the mask made and some personal experience of the treatment: thebraintumourcharity.org/b... This page goes through the possible side effects that may be experienced from the treatment: thebraintumourcharity.org/b... I hope this also helps to answer some of your questions. Warm wishes, Support Team.
