74 year old in hospital with subdural haematoma
Can anyone tell me approx. what sort of follow up appointments the patient has after a
craniotomy
? I live in north west Leicestershire so haven't been able to get to see him- basically I seem to be getting told different things.

Follow up appointments
He is still awaiting the operation to replace his skull bone after the
craniotomy
, and is still waiting for an appointment with the neuro doctor re his seizures. Do others feel that once you are discharged "that's it" you are on your own, get on with it.

Hi, to those of you who have had a clipping for an unruptured aneurysm - how do you feel 12 months on? Do you have any symptoms or worries?
I had a
craniotomy
/clipping 17months ago and am struggling with anxiety, worrying if i have another one! Trying hard to overcome this, i know i'm lucky and feel guilty at being so insecure. I had one follow up appoint with consultant at 6 weeks post op and that's it.

My Husband....my stranger....
After 48 hours the brain swelling meant that he had
craniotomy
, his temperature soared for days, and he had a constant '3' on the Glasgow coma scale for weeks.

Running water/cold sensation over the brain
They started after my
craniotomy
operation to clip the Aneursyms in the brain 18mths ago. They stayed with me for 6 mths coming and going. It was like a cold sensation passing over the brain inside the skull in waves. Didn't hurt as such but a bit unsettling.

Fix You!
My husband made no improvement 1 week later so they decided to perform a
craniotomy
and remove part of his skull to release pressure on his brain. I didnt even know that was somthing that could be done but why would i? I do believe this saved his life.
