I was so ill yesterday (day 44). I had been up in the night very unwell and was so weak in the morning that I couldn't believe that I was going to be able to do any activity. I was actually thinking that I had come all this way but was about to fail. By the afternoon I found the energy to get out and do a very gentle 5k walk with my sons. Once I'd got up and out of the door I found that I didn't feel as bad as I thought I was going to and in fact the scenic walk was so beautiful it made me feel 100% better. It was the hardest day so far since starting the challenge and I felt a real sense of achievement to tick off and log the activity for the day. It really helped to have the support of my sons who walked with me.
On day 42 I did a 5k run with the friend we are staying with. It was the first time that I'd ever run with anyone before, apart from in a race! I really enjoyed it and found that I could talk throughout the run, even though it was really hot. It's given me the confidence to run with others when I get home
I'm feeling much better today and haven't decided what activity to do yet because it's raining. At home I would just go on the treadmill, but feel that's sacrilege here in Sydney.
It's lovely to log on and see what others have been doing, there's a real sense of being in a team which is SO encouraging. And there's so many of us

To answer your question about aerobics etc., I emailed Simon at 5x50 on the first day of the challenge as I'm doing the NHS Strength&Flex workouts on non-C25K days and wanted to know how to enter them. He told me that any alternative 30 minute exercise session (i.e. not run/walk/cycle) should be entered as 5km.
Glad to hear you're doing better... I'm a firm believer that a simple walk in the open air helps ease all manner of minor ailments.
Good to get your updates and your take on the land of Oz. So no obesity problem down under???
Sorry to hear your awake at this hour!! Thanks for the reply about the logging of km's. I've gone onto the website and tracked my swim as 5k now. I suppose an hours aerobics exercise class when I get home can be counted as 10k which is great.
In this area everyone looks amazingly fit and lean. Mosman seems to be a bit like Kensington in London. But I went to an easter show, which is like our county shows at home and there were a lot of larger people there, so I think Australia seems to have an obesity problem like everywhere else in the world.
Glad your feeling better now! With your determination, there is no stopping you! Very well done!!!!! I'm wondering how I will ever achieve 50 days, let alone 100! Gayle
