So, I am just packing up my desk to head home, babysitter due at 4.30 and I am going to go and do the second run of week 6. Please tell me that this will be easier than the first run of week 6? I found it to be dismal, I think I was so hyped up from doing run 3 of week 5 that I thought I could achieve anything but I really struggled to get through. I normally run in the evenings but I did it first thing in the morning so wonder if I function better later in the day so I guess tonight will tell. Hey ho, onwards and upwards and the main thing is I am still looking forward to it in a strange way!
Eeeek! Week 6 Run 2 tonight - it's got to be b... - Couch to 5K
Eeeek! Week 6 Run 2 tonight - it's got to be better!
I am just behind you due to start week 6 tomorrow. I just wanted to say that I usually run after work and my blips have come on the days where I have been off work and decided to get out in the morning before I start my day. Not sure if its just coincidence but I do seem to run far better after a day at work, you would think it would be the other way round. Good luck I am sure you will be fine!!
How did it go? Lots of (most?) people seem to find w6r1 much harder than w5r3, maybe for psychological reasons, going back to intervals between runs - but maybe also because the long run tires the legs out and they still haven't quite recovered.
Hope it went ok.
I found W6R1 harder than W5R3 too! I think because I tried to push myself to run a bit faster in the first 5 mins stint, mistake because I was then tired for my second two runs. Seriously wanted to give up before the end of the last run, was huffing and puffing when I finished.
I'm back and in one piece! Thanks for your comments and support. I cant say it was easy buuuuut, not as bad as I thought, it was so nice running in the sun and I didn't feel so bad running against the flow of city centre grid lock traffic. I really felt I was pushing myself but was smiling and very pleased with myself when I reached home. Bring on run 3!!
